Let me say at the outset that the 5 Day Mayo diet is not a weight loss program based on eating only mayonnaise for five days straight!
In fact, there is no mayonnaise in this diet at all.It's called the Mayo diet because it is assumed that was created at an Institute of health with the name "Mayo" in it. This makes sense because a diet eat mayonnaise definitely wouldn't work very well!
So what is this diet on all then? well, this diet is actually a variation on those popular grapefruit diets.

Type: low carbohydrate diet.
What you can eat:
Grapefruit, meat, eggs, vegetables, nuts, starch-cheese and tomatoes.
What you may not eat:
Cereals (rice, bread, pasta), starchy vegetables (peas, potatoes), fruit (oranges are an exception, of course).

So this diet work wonders for you? well, let's be realistic here, is only five days long. do you really believe that you will lose all the weight in just five days you need?
Even if you lose ten pounds in five days, you think you will once you return to your normal diet lifestyle? I think you know the answer to those based on your past experiences of diet.
If you need to lose weight for an event in five days from now (as a wedding), you can give this diet a shot. just be prepared to get back all the weight within a few days.
On the other hand, if you want to lose weight ... and actually keep it right… you should definitely go on day 5 Mayo diet.
